after picking my husband and I from O’Hara airport in Chicago, my father-in-law takes us to Akai Hana.

We ordered agedashi-dofu which is a deep fried tofu with scallion and hot sauce. I really liked this dish… a lot.

We also got oyster teriyaki which was a pan-fried oyster with teriyaki sauce. Yes, I know the description of the food is basically what it’s called….i’m seriously just regurgitating what is being written on their menu.

I had to get the seaweed salad which was green seaweed in a sesame oil with cucumber. I liked this too.

My father-in-law ordered the hamachi shioyaki which is a broiled yellowtail collar with salt. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of this cause I don’t like my fish next to bones. Yes, it’s strange but I just have this crazy fear that I’ll choke on a fish bone and die so I tasted it. I can’t really comment on it cause I really didn’t eat it.

My husband ordered the asparagus-maki beef which was basically asparagus surrounded by sliced beef in teriyaki sauce. This also wasn’t half bad.

Overall, I liked the restaurant. Xoxo.
