the noodles. it was interesting.

Scooby doo snacks grabbed lunch at buddha’s belly.  we both ordered the spicy peanut noodles cause we do EVERYTHING together.  it was okay.  nothing stellar.

my noodle dish also came with this tomato egg drop soup.

it tasted like tom yum soup but not at the same time. hmmm.

it wasn’t bad.  xoxo.

Mama Lu’s Dumpling House

153 E. Garvey Ave.
Monterey Park, CA 91755
(626) 307-5700

two words: SOOOOO good!

after picking up my husband from work last nite, we decided to check out mama lu’s dumpling house…and OMFG…sooo crazy happy that i did. i LOVE it!!!

i ordered the roast beef noodle soup, green onion fried pan cake, juicy pork dumplings, pan fried dumplings, and sauteed string beans.

Roast Beef Noodle Soup...we LOVE this stuff.

i LOVED everything except for the panfried dumplings.

my husband LOVES green onion pancakes!

i also got a lemonade iced tea which i also LOVED. i will definitely be going back. oh yeah…it’s cash only and i personally think it’s sooo much better than din tai fung, which quite honestly, i think is slightly overrated. xoxo.

i was craving buffalo wings so my husband and i decided to hit hooters. big mistake. like seriously, their food has basically been going downhill. luckily, we went during happy hour so it wasn’t too expensive but i will most likely NOT be coming back.

we got the lemon pepper chicken wings naked, breaded hot buffalo wings and teriyaki wings, and their tator tots.

oh yeah…and one of their wings was like seriously a joke. i mean, i know the economy sucks but check out the size of that drumstick.

i think i am getting ripped off!!!

like seriously??? xoxo.

for lunch yesterday, my best friend scooby doo snacks took me to hokusai. the first thing he says to me is, “u look like you just came out from an anorexic eating disorder clinic.” i’m like…”really? awesome!!!” honestly, i hadn’t been eating much the past two weeks cause i’ve been stressed over my bootylicious birthday party but now that the party is over, i can go back to resume eating.

rock shrimp tempura

at the restaurant, i ordered the crispy spicy tuna, the rock shrimp tempura, albacore sushi, and miso soup.

crispy spicy tuna. xoxo.

scooby doo snacks got the chirashi [i think that's what it's called] entree consisting of soups, salad, rice, and some raw fish stuff.

i also got an iced tea.

all in all, i was pretty happy with my meal. my rock shrimp tempura tasted like shrimp chicken mcnuggets so i liked it.

rock shrimp tempura

so if you’re ever in like beverly hills, i totally recommend this place. i don’t crazy LOVE it but i honestly wouldn’t mind coming back.

oh yeah…me and scooby doo snacks has also become one of those annoying people who sit next to each other and like text each other. why? cause we’re stupid. xoox.

Dunkin’ Donuts

3207 Lake Avenue
Wilmette, IL 60091-1070
(847) 853-0066

for breakfast, i wanted dunkin’ donuts cause i don’t have it anywhere near where i live in LA…so i’ve like never had it before. and omFG…it was sooo good…i ordered some egg sausage breakfast thing with hash browns, an iced tea, and a fritter.

the hash browns were sooooooo good.

i love this thing a lot.

the fritter was seriously yummy too.

this was a HUGE disappointment.

my iced tea tasted like crap because i’m sure they brewed it in the same pot as their coffee so it had that nasty bitter coffee taste to my tea but i was pretty happy with my egg sausage breakfast thing.

i would definitely go back for the hash browns and fritter.

i had hit noyes street cafe with my husband and siblings-in-law for brunch. i ordered the steak medium rare and had my eggs over easy. it came with a mimosa which i did not touch cause i had been drinking the night before so i was slightly hungover.

anyway, i liked my breakfast. xoxo.

HI-TOPS

2462 N Lincoln Ave
Chicago, IL 60614

my french martini

for my brother-in-law’s 30th bday bash, we hit HI-TOPS which is like this sports bar in chicago. people started playing beer pong which i think is gross cause like the ball gets on the floor and then u “sanitize” it with water and then hit it and then it lands in one of those cups filled with beer and then u drink that beer and i think it’s gross. i’d rather lick a toilet for like a dollar. Why? cause for one thing, if u play this game, you’re not winning anything and if i lick a toilet, i’d still get a dollar. i kid…i’d rather die than do those two things. actually, i’d rather be forced to eat like 2 hot dogs by myself.  anyway, so as people are playing this, i decide to have two French martinis which consisted of chambord, vodka, and pineapple. that was pretty delicious. my sister-in-laws and i also had some red headed sluts and kamikaze shots. that was a really bad idea.  oh yeah…my husband, sister-in-law, and i also ordered some bar food. we got nachos and buffalo wings and fries. that was really good.  i really like it when nachos have that ghetto liquidy melted cheese and not like real cheese that is melted.

i love nachos cause it's bad for u so that makes it really good.

all in all, i had a great time. it’s been awhile since i’ve had two martinis and four shots. the next day, i was dying so i will be back to quitting the bottle. xoxo.

Bravo Italian Cucina

1701 Maple Avenue
Evanston, IL 60201
(847) 733-0917

my brother-in-law and sister-in-law hosted their son’s 1st bday at Bravo Italian Cucina. before i talk about the food, there were like a bunch of cute kids there and it was crazy. i love kids so i was like in heaven…until of course they start crying, and then i’m over it. luckily for me, the bday boy wasn’t a cryer. he was actually quite serious, like he knew this was a very important day for him…which it was…

anyway, so here are my thoughts regarding the food.

for appetizers, we ate:
Calamari Fritti which was served with creamy horseradish sauce and marinara and Artichoke & Spinach Formaggio which was served warm with Parmesan flatbread. They were both pretty good.

house salad

We had two types of salads, the chopped salad which consisted of Chopped greens, cucumber, red onion, tomato, olives, Feta cheese and traditional Italian dressing. We also had the house salad which had bacon on it which i obviously liked cause i do love bacon.

entrees consisted of Pasta BRAVO! which is their signature dish-rigatoni tossed with grilled chicken and mushrooms in roasted red pepper cream sauce, Penne Mediterranean which had spinach, sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts, olive oil and Feta cheese, tossed with BARILLA PLUS multi grain pasta, and Grilled Salmon with pan roasted green beans, crispy potatoes, lemon caper butter sauce and basil-pine nut pesto crumbs.

pesto encrusted salmon. it was really good.

i was a huge fan of the rigatoni and salmon.

i hearted this. xoox.

overall, the food was pretty good and i was happy with my meal and it was definitely a great place to host small parties and yes, i still like babies. xoxo.

Sweet Tomatoes

2351 Willow Rd
Glenview, IL 60025
(847) 657-8141

i love this stuff...and by stuff, strawberry lemonade

for lunch today, i hit sweet tomatoes with my husband and in-laws. basically, sweet tomatoes is like a soup plantation in LA….i don’t understand why it has a different name here…like, i really don’t get it…but anyway, i get a strawberry lemonade which was totally delicious. i love strawberry lemonades.

roasted corn chowder

clam chowder...this was kind of yucko.

chicken noodle soup

and of course, since it was a buffet, u know i had to pile on the food. i had two bowls of some potato corn ham chowder soup, a bowl of clam chowder, and a bowl of chicken noodle soup. that was to start.

why do i have pickes on my plate? cause i like them.

i then continued with 2 plates of chinese chicken salad and this spinach salad i composed consisting of eggs, beets, cucumbers, olives, red onions, corn, and drizzled with some poppy seed orange vinaigrette. it was pretty delicious.

all in all, i hate what i’m about to say…but i actually liked my food. i didn’t like the clam chowder and did not touch the pastas they had nor the bread and other carby stuff but i was happy about the stuff i did end up consuming. oh yeah…i liked the rice pudding but did NOT like the brownie thing they had. that was pretty gross. xoxo.
